Don’t do it.
It’s desperate, and it most cases annoying. If you have a good service and demonstrate it well enough, there are many better ways to generate leads. And they don’t involve 300 rejections, and a maybe.
Client relationships are like real relationships. Would you ever cold call your way to a date?
Just incase, here’s 5 solid reasons not to do it:
- It’s an unwelcome interruption for the customer
- It’s a great way to kill your motivation and your mood
- You won’t get to speak to the right person
- You are going to hate it
- The people you phone are going to hate it
The main reason I wouldn’t cold call, is that it is very inefficient. It takes a lot of time to do right, and even then there is a 10% conversion just to get a follow up meeting/call. There are better ways to spend your time.
